US President Donald Trump has vowed to start building a wall on the Mexican border soon, way ahead of schedule. Addressing the Conservative Political Action Congress in Maryland, he vowed to always put American citizens first and build a great border wall.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the government plans to start awarding preliminary contracts by April for construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. The agency said it will accept concept papers for the wall’s design beginning next week and will choose the best ones by March 20. The agency will then ask vendors for construction cost estimates and, after reviewing their bids, begin granting contracts by mid-April.
