Trade and investment, science and technology among other items that will be high on agenda during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Belgium. Mr. Modi leaving for Brussels, the capital city of Belgium tonight. After Belgium, Mr. Modi will also visit the US and Saudi Arabia.
Official sources said that Mr. Modi will hold meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel and also attend the 13th India-European Union summit tomorrow. India is Belgium’s second largest export destination and Belgium is also India’s second largest trading partner in the European Union.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India-EU Summit will advance multifaceted engagement with EU. In departure statement prior to his visit to Belgium, USA and Saudi Arabia, Mr Modi said, the EU is a vital trading partner and the biggest export destination for India.
Terming relations with Belgium as deep rooted and time tested, the Prime Minister said, no words are enough to salute the resilience and spirit of the people of Belgium. He said, India stands shoulder to shoulder with them in the wake of the horrific attacks in Brussels and share the grief of those who lost their loved ones.
Mr. Modi will meet Indian diamond trading community as they have a large share over it. The Prime Minister will also interact with Belgian businessmen and CEOs and also address Indian diaspora. On the other hand, New Delhi hoped to revive India’s engagement with the European Union as Mr. Modi will also interact with the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission.
Writing about his US visit where he will be attending the 4th Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D. C on 31st March and 1st of April, Mr Modi said, the will deliberate on the crucial issue of threat to nuclear security caused by nuclear terrorism. He said, leaders would discuss ways and measure to ensure that non-state actors do not get access to nuclear material.
During last leg of his tour to Saudi Arabia on 2nd and 3rd of April, Mr Modi said, India wants the prominent Saudi businesses to partner with its development priorities. He said, that would be one of the key objectives of the business event planned in Riyadh. He will meet senior leaders of Saudi Arabia and will also interact with the Indian community members.
