Union minister K J Alphons visited an injured Swiss couple, who were allegedly attacked in Agra’s Fatehpur Sikri by a group of youths, at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi today.
The tourism minister also discussed their treatment with the hospital management and doctors.
The couple from Lausanne in Switzerland was chased and attacked on Sunday by a group of four youths in the tourist town of Fatehpur Sikri, about 40 km from Agra.
Five persons were arrested in connection with the attack. An FIR has been registered against unknown people in the case.
UP’s Home Secretary Bhagwan Swaroop said, the involvement of five persons surfaced during the investigation and all of them have been arrested. He said, of the 5 arrested, three are minors.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has sought a report from the state government on the incident.
