Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi has said that the total sales of CNG vehicles have increased over the past few years. He said the total number of vehicles using CNG registered till the 22nd of this month is over 72 lakh 10 thousand across the country. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Mr. Gopi said the establishment of compressed natural gas CNG stations is part of the development of the city gas distribution network, and it is carried out by the entities authorised by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. He said the authorised entities develop the CNG infrastructure in their geographical areas as per their minimum work plan and techno-commercial feasibility.
