Trinamool Congress and the CPIM clashed in Rajya Sabha over the issue of sting operation by a news portal, alleging some MPs took bribe from a fictitious company. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Derek O’Brein of the Trinamool Congress said, the very credibility of the news organisation is questionable and alleged foreign funds are being used to destabilise the state government.
Sitaram Yechury of the CPIM demanded the government should order a probe into the sting operation, as it raised questions about the credibility of members of the House. His party colleagues trooped into the well of the House, shouting slogans.
Yechury alleged, the reluctance of the government to order a probe shows, there is an understanding between the ruling party and the Trinamool Congress. Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien however, said, he cannot order an inquiry and it is for the government to take action as appropriate.
