Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that with the help of PM Gatishakti platform, the government is trying to reduce the expenditure cost in logistics sectors from 13 to 14 percent of the GDP to a single digit.
H e said that PM Gatishakti digital platform has the potential to save about Rs 10 lakh crore annually in the logistics sector.
Minister was speaking to media in New Delhi on the sidelines of National Workshop on PM Gatishakti – National Master Plan for Multi-modal connectivity. ,
Mr Goyal said, on PM Gatishakti platform, many aspects of hundreds of projects are being completed within 2 to 3 days which earlier took many years. He added that after acknowledging the success rate of this platform, several important infrastructure sectors are now associating with PM Gatishakti platform. The Minister said, this platform is going to redefine the growth story and will modernise the future of India. He said, it will add great impetus to the economy and make country more prosperous.
Earlier, Mr Goyal interacted with several officials of the Central Ministries, State and Industry representatives in the workshop to find the solutions to the challenges facing several infrastructure sectors, including logistics and road construction.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Gati Shakti – National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity on this day last year. Gati Shakti – a digital platform – will bring 16 Ministries, including Railways and Roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects. The National Workshop is being held to mark the first anniversary of PM Gati Shakti platform.
