modi2Prime Minister Narendra Modi  today said that  great leaders of India were remembered by people irrespective of their political affiliations and that there was no place for political untouchability in a democratic setup. Taking part in the centenary celebrations of freedom fighter and veteran Congress leader Girdhari Lal Dogra Jammu today, Mr. Modi paid tributes to the late leader and described him as a great visionary who played important role in the freedom struggle of the nation. The Prime Minister said that Late Dogra would always remain a source of inspiration for political leaders. In his welcome speech on the occasion, Union Minister Arun Jaitley threw light on the life of the late leader and described him a visionary leader of Jammu and Kashmir whose contributions for the people of the State remained unparallel.

Paying tribute to the late leader, the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed said that Girdhari Lal Dogra worked for the integrity of all the regions of the State and that PDP-BJP coalition government in the State is committed to the same cause. Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, and MP Dr. Karan Singh were also present on the occasion. The Prime Minister also inaugurated a photo exhibition based on the life of the late leader, in Jammu University. Renowned Santoor maestro Shiv Kumar Sharma performed and paid musical tributes to the late leader on the occasion.
