Telangana state reported 1986 new Coronavirus Positive cases during the past 24 hours taking the total case load to 62 thousand 703. This is the highest single day spike in the COVID cases reported in the recent past.
As the state Medical and Health bulletin says this morning, the recovery rate has been reported at 72.3 per cent with over 816 people recovered from COVID and got discharged from various hospitals in the state yesterday. Witnessing the highest spike in the number of deaths on a single day, the state reported 14 deaths yesterday due to COVID and other comorbidities taking the total deaths to 519 so far.
Meanwhile, the testing for the virus has also gone up in the state with over 21 thousand tests done yesterday. With this, the state has so far done over 4 lakh 37 thousand tests ever since the pandemic started. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area continues to show high prevalence of COVID while districts like Rangareddy, Medchal, Karimnagar and Warangal-Urban districts report new cases in triple digits every day.
