The high-level team from the Election Commission of India led by Senior Deputy Election Commissioners Dharmendra Sharma and Nitesh Kumar Vyas held meetings for three days over poll preparedness in Telangana.
Senior officials including State Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and senior officials from different enforcement agencies, district collectors, and Commissioners and Superintendents of Police attended the meetings.
An official release informed that the ECI delegation held productive meetings with top officials from various enforcement agencies, including the Income Tax Department, Narcotics Control Board, Excise Department, State GST: CGST, Enforcement Directorate, State Level Bankers Committee, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, CISF, and the State Commercial Tax Department with a view to curtailing the use of money power in the elections.
The delegation also convened a crucial meeting with District Collectors and commissioners and Superintendents of Police from all 33 districts of the State to discuss poll preparedness ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections to assess their readiness.
It has further said that the State authorities have assured the ECI delegation of all logistical support required to conduct the elections smoothly.
