NEW DELHI: (AMN)  Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar on Tuesday appointed T.K. Viswanathan  as new Secretary-General of Lok Sabha.

He will succeed P.D.T. Achary  who will relinquish office on  September 30.

Viswanathan, is presently Adviser to the Union Minister for Law & Justice. Earlier he held the office of Union Law Secretary from 31 August 2008 to 21 October 2009 He was Secretary to the Government of India from April 1, 2000 to  October 1, 2003; Member Secretary, Law Commission of India from 1 October 2003 to 31 March 2006; and Secretary, Legislative Department from 1 April 2006 to 31 October 2009.
