Swarms of locust entered Chhattisgarh last night. As per the information, locusts have entered in Bharatpur block of Koriya district from neighbouring area of Madhya Pradesh. The Chhattisgarh agriculture department has already ed the farmers of districts bordering Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra after swarms of locusts attacked crops in the neighbouring states.
The Chhattisgarh government has instructed all the district collectors to take necessary measures to save crops from locust attack. The state government has also issued a helpline number for the farmers along with setting up a control room. Besides, Agriculture department has been asked to arrange adequate quantity of pesticides
