Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into northeastern states, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

According to the India Meteorological Department, IMD, due to strengthening of southwesterly winds and a cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, rainfall activity very likely over Northeastern states and adjoining East India during next 4 to 5 days.

IMD said, under the influence of the off-shore trough at mean sea level from north Maharashtra coast to north Kerala coast and a cyclonic circulation over Konkan and Goa, scattered to widespread rainfall and gusty winds very likely over parts of south peninsular India and West coast.
