The last rites of senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj were performed with full state honours at Lodhi Road Crematorium in New Delhi last evening.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Prakash Javadekar, BJP veteran L K Advani, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and other leaders hailing from different political parties attended the funeral.
Governors of many states and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also attended.
Earlier, the mortal remains of the former External Affairs Minister were kept at BJP headquarters for people to pay their respects.
President Ram Nath Kovind led a host of leaders in paying tributes to the departed leader.
Sushma Swaraj passed away at AIIMS last night after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. She was 67.
