Sukma naxal attack: HM pays tribute to martyrs
Union Minister Rajnath Singh paid homage to the jawans martyred Sukma attack in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur on Saturday.

During the day the minister also visited the injured jawans in hospital and enquired about their health speaking about the incident the minister has called it unfortunate says the sacrifice of the soldiers will not go waste.

Later during the day the minister called a meeting with the top security officials of the state including the Director General, CRPF in the meeting the union home minister highlighted the naxal menace and called for coordinated action against the threat.

Meanwhile the death toll of CRPF personnel martyred in the attack has risen to 12, the attack had happened when Maoists triggered a powerful IED and then opened fire on a road opening party. Maoists also looted 10 weapons from the slain security personnel before fleeing to the nearby forests.

Five jawans were also injured in the attack that took place in the dense forests of Bhejji police station limits at 9:15 AM when a patrol party of CRPF’s 219 battalion was out for a road opening task near Kotacheru village. 112 security personnel were part of the patrol party.

The Naxals also looted ten weapons and two radio sets from the killed men, according to officials. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed saddened over the loss of lives in the attack on security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma.

Prime Minister said that he spoke to Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the situation in Sukma.
