He apprised the UP Governor on the prevailing political situation in the state.

While the meeting between Akhilesh and Naik was officially described as a courtesy call, sources in Raj Bhawan said the prevailing political situation in the state did figure during the 15-minute interaction.

Meanwhile BJP hitting out at SP, BSP and congress for the sorry state of affairs in the state BJP leader Srikant Sharma said that SP and BSP are responsible for the deteriorating health and law and order situation in UP.

Earlier, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has called a meeting of his supporter MLAs, MLCs including expelled MLCs and party office bearers to discuss his proposed Rath Yatra scheduled on November 3.

Route of his Rath Yatra has been finalised. He will start from Lucknow and go to Kanpur via Unnao.

Meanwhile, Minister of state for Forest in UP government Pawan Pandey has been expelled from party for six years in connection with assaulting MLC Aashu Mullick.

Mullick had filed an FIR against Pandey.

Pandey however has refuted all charges leveled against him by Mullick.
