Southwest Monsoon has further advanced to several states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Chattisgarh and parts of east Uttar Pradesh.
Director General of India Meteorological Department, KJ Ramesh said the monsoon is in very active phase and it has progressed in more areas in the last three days.
He said monsoon has covered Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and parts of East Uttar Pradesh. Mr Ramesh said good rainfall has been witnessed in these areas in the last three days.
