BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha today came out in support of arrested JNU student union leader Kanhaiya Kumar, facing the sedition charges. Contradicting his party’s stand on the issue, the actor-turned-politician called for Kumar’s release in a twitter message, adding that he has said nothing anti-national or against the Constitution.
Sinha also said, any accusations in the JNU controversy needed to be substantiated with hard facts. He noted, JNU is an institution of international repute, enviable record & history. It is going through a crisis for reasons best known to politicians, added Mr.Sinha.
