Several States in North India are in the grip of a severe heatwave, causing discomfort to people. In Haryana, Narnaul was the hottest place in the region with a maximum temperature of 44.4. In Punjab, Patiala recorded a high of 42.4 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal.

In Rajasthan, the severe heat wave continued as most parts of the state witnessed temperature above 42 degree Celsius. Churu and Bundi remained hottest place today where the maximum temperature was recorded at 45.5 degree Celsius.

Met department said that similar conditions will prevail next couple of days.

In the national capital, Delhi intensely hot weather conditions prevailed today with the mercury remaining upto four notches above normal level. The maximum temperature was recorded at 43.6 degrees Celsius. The MeT department has forecast overcast conditions for tomorrow.
