At the stock markets, the Sensex zoomed 1,848 points, or 4 percent, to trade at 48,134, after the presentation of the Union Budget, in the afternoon trade a short while ago. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange shot up 514 points, or 3.9 percent, to 14,149.
In the broader market, the BSE Mid-cap index jumped 2 percent and the Small-cap index climbed 1.3 percent, in intra-day trade.
