In West Bengal, the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination to cover senior citizens and people above 45 years with comorbidities have begun today at 126 centres across the state. People can register their names by themselves at the coWin portal and can choose the vaccination centres as per their convenience.
In Kolkata, the community vaccination drive is going on at 15 government hospitals and 10 private hospitals. Each private hospital has been asked by the state health department to vaccinate 50 people, which includes 30 beneficiaries above the age of 60 and 20 with co-morbidities. The vaccine is being administered free of cost at government hospitals to these groups while the cost of the vaccine at private Vaccination Centres will be borne by the people. According to sources in the state health department, the total number of vaccination centres is going to be increased within 2 to 3 days.
