The Supreme Court today referred to a five-judge Constitution Bench a plea alleging that bribes were taken in the name of judges.
The court also issued notice to Centre and the CBI on the plea seeking setting up of SIT headed by ex-SC judge under its monitoring.
Hearing a matter relating to a CBI FIR into alleged bribes taken in the name of judges, the apex court asked CBI to keep in safe custody documents of an FIR in which an ex-Odisha High Court judge is also an accused.
It directed the CBI to produce these documents in sealed cover before Constitution Bench on the coming Monday.
