NEW DELHI (AMN) The Supreme Court on Wednesday deferred hearing the plea to postpone the Allahabad High Court verdict on Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi title suit dispute, which is to be pronounced on September 24.

The bench of Justices Altmas Kabir and A K Patnaik, while refusing to hear the petition filed by a retired bureaucrat, Ramesh Chand Tripathi did not specify the date as when the matter would be taken up again. The judges have however directed the Court Registry to list it before another Bench in the routine course.
The Judges said the petition would be taken up by another Bench as they did not have the determination to take up the matter which has arisen from a civil suit.

Tripathi approached the Apex court after a three-judge Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court rejected his petition for deferring the verdict to allow mediation to find a solution to the Babri title suit dispute.
