NEW DELHI: (AMN) The Supreme Court on Saturday asked former Gujarat minister home minister Amit Shah to stay out of Gujarat. The apex court ordered shah Shah to leave the state by Sunday morning.
The court decided to hear CBI’s plea for cancellation of the bail on the 15th of next month. Shah, a close aid of Gujarat Chief Minster Narendra Modi, is an accused in the case of fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kauser Bi in 2005.
The SC ruling came at a special hearing at Justice Aftab Alam’s residence in New Delhi. The court was hearing CBI’s plea for cancellation of his bail granted by the Gujarat High Court on Friday in the case. The Bench also comprising Justice R M Lodha asked the CBI to supply a copy of its petition to Shah in a week. Shah has to file his reply by November 12 and the agency will file its rejoinder later. Senior advocate K T S Tulsi, appearing for CBI, submitted that there is likelihood of Shah influencing the witnesses in the case.
