Samajwadi Party General Secretary Ramgopal Yadav has said that as of now no merger will take place of the Qaumi Ekta Dal, into the Samajwadi Party. Mr Yadav informed after the Parliamentary Board meeting which was presided by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Sources said that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav again opposed the merger during the meeting yesterday.
On Tuesday, another senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav had announced the merger of the Qaumi Ekta Dal into SP. He said that the merger will strengthen the ruling party. He however had also made it clear that Mukhtar Ansari, another Dal leader has not joined the Samajwadi Party.
It is worth to recall that Mr Akhilesh Yadav had expressed his strong reservations about this merger on the very first day and even sacked his Minister Balram Yadav, who had played an active role in this affair.
