Russia today detained a suspect in the killing of a senior general, in Charge of its nuclear protection forces, Igor Kirillov. According to the Russian Federal Security Service, the suspect is a Uzbek citizen recruited by Ukrainian intelligence services. It said, that the 29-year-old man was reportedly recruited by the ‘Security Service of Ukraine’, was promised one lakh US dollars and residency in the European Union.

Meanwhile, the Russian foreign ministry today said that Russia will raise the assassination in Moscow of top Russian general Kirillov by Ukraine at the UN Security Council on Friday (20th December).

Russia’s foreign ministry alleged that Ukraine had repeatedly dropped white phosphorus munitions from drones in September. On the other hand, Ukraine dismissed the allegation.
