Muslim Rashtriya Manch- MRM, an outfit backed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Saturday organised a All India Ulema Conference in Lucknow to deliberate on issues such as terrorism and communal riots in India. The MRM dubbed it to be the ‘biggest ever’ Ulema conference. Indresh Kumar, the senior functionary of RSS also attended the meet. However the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and other mainstream outfits of Muslims did not participate in it. The agenda of the All India Ulema Conference was ‘riots, terror, atrocities and violence-free India’.
MRM national convenor Mohammad Afzal said that the Ulemas made appeal for peace and communal harmony for the growth of the nation. He said over 1000 clerics of different sects from over twenty states attended the conference.
