The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice till noon today on different issues. As soon as the House met for the day, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged that Arunachal Pradesh Governor has summoned the State Assembly without consulting the Chief Minister or his Council of Ministers.

Responding to this, Leader of the House and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley asked how could the House discuss about a State Assembly. He also said the conduct of a Governor should not be discussed in the House. Mr Azad said the act of the Governor was most undemocratic.

The House witnessed noisy scenes as Congress members rushed to the well shouting slogans forcing its adjournment for 15 minutes till 11.40 hours. When it re-assembled at 11.40 hours Derek O’Brien of the Trinamool Congress said the CBI has raided the office of the Delhi Chief Minister.

To this, Mr Jaitley clarified the raids has nothing to do with Mr Kejriwal. The CBI has conducted raids at three places of an officer of the Delhi government. He said the raids were in connection with an old case against the officer. As noisy scenes continued, Deputy Chairman Prof. P J Kurien adjourned the House for the second time for 15 minutes till Noon.
