The CBI today continued its searches and raids at the same three locations in Kanpur for the second consecutive day in connection with its probe into a multi-crore loan default by Rotomac Pen promoter Vikram Kothari.

Sleuths of the agency opened the lockers owned by the family members of Kothari in different banks at Kanpur in the presence of his wife and took several documents in possession. The CBI again questioned Kothari along with his wife.

The raided places included office and residential premises of the company’s directors, where searches were conducted yesterday. CBI sources said that search will continue.

According to the CBI sources, the loan default would touch 3,695 crore rupees, including interest. It is alleged that Kothari has taken the loan from seven banks on fake documents. CBI has lodged FIR against Kothari, his family members and three directors of the company.
