Bihar ruling partner, RJD today attacked JD (U) for its support to NDA nominee Ram Nath Kovind for the presidential election, calling it ‘unfortunate and a conspiracy to weaken Opposition`s unity’.
Senior RJD leader and party MLA Bhai Birendra said that Chief Minister and JD (U) president Nitish Kumar had tried to weaken the Opposition`s unity earlier too and his decision to support Mr Kovind was another step in the same direction.
Talking to media persons he said “It is unfortunate that JD (U) has decided to support Mr Kovind.”
He said it was not proper on the part of JD (U) to hold a meeting on the issue of support to Mr Kovind a day before the Opposition parties’ scheduled meeting in New Delhi .
Mr Birendra said the Opposition parties would also deliberate on the JD (U)`s decision to support Mr Kovind in their meeting Thursday.
