Rama Navami is being celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm in different parts of country today. The festival marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted people on the occasion.

In his message, Mr Kovind said, Lord Rama’s life is a message in itself, a message of adhering to the values of righteousness, treading the path of truth, devotion to duty, restraint and selfless service. The President called on people to embrace these moral values and make the world beautiful, clean and joyful with their good deeds.

In his message, Mr Naidu said, Lord Rama is revered as an embodiment of righteousness and as an ideal human being whose life was an eloquent inspirational message. He called on people to draw inspiration from the great epic hero’s illustrious saga that provided the philosophical basis for Mahatma Gandhiji’s vision for the country’s polity.

In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Lord Rama represented high human values. He said, Lord Rama was a ideal son, brother, husband, friend and an ideal king. The Prime Minister said, Ayodhya was an ideal city and Ram-Rajya was an ideal governance system. He said, Lord Rama set the best example of sacrifice and austerity. On the occasion of Ram Navami, Mr Modi said, festivals in India are the medium of social education.
