Opposition members in the Rajya Sabha today clashed with treasury bench members over a remark by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi forcing the adjournment of the House for a brief period till noon. Several opposition members including Sharad Yadav of JD(U) expressed grave concern over the increasing trend of unemployment in the country.
Anand Sharma of the Congress said that the youth of the country are disappointed and there is a discontent all over the country. Responding to this, Mr. Naqvi said, the country is not disappointed but the Congress is.
Thereafter opposition members trooped into the well raising slogans against the government. As noisy scenes continued, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien adjourned the House till noon. When the House re-assembled at noon to take up question hour, the issue was raised by Sharad Yadav of JD(U) before Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari. Responding to this, Mr Naqvi withdrew his remarks against the opposition party.
