rajya sabhaOpposition Congress forced repeated adjournments of the Rajya Sabha for the second day today insisting that the House take up Private Members’ bill on the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation bill.

Congress members trooped into the well immediately after Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati replied to a Calling Attention motion on river water dispute between Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Earlier, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien made it clear that rules do not permit taking up the Andhra Pradesh bill today.

He also suggested that the same can be taken up on Friday. The House was adjourned for thirty minutes till 4 PM as noisy scenes continued. There was no change in the situation when the House re-assembled and the Chair adjourned the House for the day.
