Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today held a crucial meeting with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, Army Chief M M Naravane and Director General of Military operations.

According to reports, the discussion centred around the future course of action after the recent provocations from the PLA in the South Pangong area.

Yesterday, Brigade Commander level Flag meeting between Indian Army and PLA held at Chushul to discuss PLA troops provocative military movements.

Army said that PLA troops violated the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements during the ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh. PLA troops carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo in the intervening night of 29th August and 30th August. However, Indian troops pre-empted this PLA activity.
