rajnathHome Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of deadly attack on a CRPF convoy that left eight personnel dead. He directed security forces to intensify vigil in the state. During the hour-long meeting, the Home Minister was briefed about the internal security situation and the steps taken to ensure peace.

The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, chiefs of intelligence agencies and other senior officials.

They analysed the inputs, including on infiltration from across the border, received from various agencies and steps taken on them. The Home Minister has already set up a three-member team to look into lapses, if any in the Pulwama incident. The team will also look into the practices being followed during the movement of paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
