rainTamil Nadu and Puducherry are set to receive more rain in the next twenty four hours. Weather officials have said, the low pressure area that was prevailing in the South West Bay yesterday has now spread over to the adjoining West Central Bay and also the coasts of Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh.

In addition, an upper air circulation is being noticed above the Gulf of Mannar near Rameswaram, further reinforcing the possibility of rain in the region.

The Chennai Area Cyclone Warning Centre of the Meteorology Department Director Balachandran told press, coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are set to get widespread rain with the possibility of heavy rain in some places in the next twenty four hours.

Some places in interior districts are also set to witness moderate rain. In Chennai, a few spells of rain is expected during the evenings and at night. Schools in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Tiruvarur remain closed today.
