Rahul Gandhi Tuesday rediculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a Rs 1.25 lakh crore package for poll-bound Bihar, saying Mr Modi is in the habit of giving such promises for votes and feared it would go the “One Rank One Pension” way.

The Congress Vice-President also said that Mr. Modi has funds for Bihar package, but when it comes to ex-servicemen, he cites shortage of money.

Rahul on a two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency Amethi, said he would not be surprised if Mr. Modi announces a similar package for Uttar Pradesh before it goes to polls which is due in 2017. Rahul was talking to reporters in Raniganj village in Shukulbazar on the first day of his visit.

Meanwhile, BJP today criticized Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi’s remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government. Talking to AIR, party spokesperson Nalin Kohli said the government work is being appreciated not only by all sections of society but even by foreign countries.

He said Congress Vice-President is not able to see it. He wondered when there was misgovernance during the UPA rule, all was well for Mr. Gandhi but now when things are on the right track, Congress leader is looking the other side.

Mr. Kohli said NDA government is taking several initiatives for the betterment of poor and marginalized sections and people are happy with the work.
