Russian President Vladimir Putin has said, his country is not involved in an effort to influence the US Presidential election. Speaking in a business forum in Moscow, he said, nothing in the hacking scandal is in Russia’s interests and accused all sides in the US presidential campaign of misusing rhetoric about Russia for their own purposes. Putin said his government will work with whoever won the US election, if the new US leader wishes to work with Russia.
Last week, the US government formally accused Russia of launching a hacking campaign to interfere with the US election process.
