Hundreds of volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have announced their separation from the party and have formed a separate Aam Aadmi Volunteers Front Punjab on Sunday evening. These volunteers from almost all the districts of the state assembled at Desh Bhgata Yaadgar Hall at Jalandhar to chalk out their strategy.

They were concerned about the alleged deviation of AAP leadership from the ideals and principles of the party. The front said that it would provide voice to the people. Representatives from six district units of the party from Himachal Pradesh have also reportedly held talks with them.

The new front which has got the support of party’s suspended Member of Parliaments (MPs), Dharamvira Gandhi from Patiala and Harinder Singh Khalsa from Fatehgarh Sahib and some other senior leaders, have decided to contest upcoming state assembly elections in 2017. The front would form state committees, state executive and state council within a week.
