AMN / PUNE
The proposed Pune International Airport will now come up in Purandar taluka, which is about 42 km from the city. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told media Friday that an expert team of Airports Authority of India had conducted the feasibility study of the land for the project at Purandar taluka and approved it four days ago.
Fadnavis was in the city to attend several programmes and to preside over the review meeting of Pune division on implementation of flagship schemes including Jalyukt Shivar, farm pond and grants for building individual toilets and making all districts open-defecation free.
Fadnavis interacted with tehsildars from talukas which are lagging behind in implementation of schemes and motivated them to complete the target in stipulated time limit.
He said he is confident that by March 2017, the state would be open-defecation free.
