The process of Government formation has begun in the states which went to elections recently and elected members for new assemblies.  Since all the results were clear mandates, it is a matter of formalizing the dates for swearing in the new governments.

J jayalalithaa will take oath on the 23rd in Tamil nadu, Sarbananda Sonawal on the 24th in Assam, and Mamta bannerjee on the 27th in West bengal.

In Kerala the CPIM has decided to make Pinarayi Vijayan Chief Minister, because of VS Achuthanandan’s advanced age. Here is a round up of all the developments.

In Assam, the stage is set for the first BJP-led govt.Newly elected BJP legislators met in Guwahati on Friday.

Chief Minister -to-be Sarbhananda Sonowal and senior leader Himanta Biswa Sarma were present in the meeting alongside BJP leaders in Delhi.

It was decided that all newly elected legislators of the party would meet on 22nd May where Sonowal would be elected BJP’s legislature party leader and the oath taking ceremony would take place on 24th May.

In West Bengal, where the verdict was against the Left-Congress coalition.

Mamata was unanimously elected as TMC’s legislature party leader.Her name was proposed by Trinamool Congress general secretary Partho Chatterjee and supported by other legislators of the party.From the legislature party meeting.Mamata headed to Governor’s House in Kolkata and staked claim to form govt.Having stormed back to power she would take oath as Chief Minister on the 27th of May.

The suspense has ended over who would be the Chief Minister of Kerala a day after LDF beat UDF in the state assembly election.
