President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary today. He also made a visit to the former prime minister’s samadhi, Sadaiv Atal, in the National Capital.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu attended a prayer meeting in the memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his samadhi, ‘Sadaiv Atal’. He paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister.

He said, the country will always remember the outstanding service and efforts of the former Prime Minister towards the nation’s progress.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah remembered and paid tributes to Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary. He said, Mr. Vajpayee was the voice of Patriotism and Indian Culture.
Mr. Shah said, the former Prime Minister was not only a great politician but also a skilled organiser who played an important role in laying the foundation and further expanding the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said, Mr. Vajpayee inspired millions of people to join the party and work for the nation.
Mr Shah said, the country witnessed good governance for the first time under the tenure of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said, where on one hand he initiated developmental projects like Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, National Highway Development Project , on the other , he is also credited with laying the strong foundation of the country by conducting Pokhran Nuclear Tests and registering the Kargil victory in the country’s name.
Home Minister said, the current government is committed to make India a superpower by its pro-poor and good governance policies which are centred around ideals established by Mr. Vajpayee.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar paid tributes to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary today. He said, Vajpayee will remain an inspiration for all in years to come. Mr. Javadekar said, the strong personality of the former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee helped in building the foundations of a strong India and a strong party.
