President Pranab Mukherjee held bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday.

The two leaders are understood to have shared views on regional and global issues and dwell upon national issues concerning both countries.

Mutual cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, defence, higher education and space also figured during the talks.

Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar had informed earlier that India and Russia are planning to celebrate 40th anniversary of the launch of India’s first satellite “Aryabhatta”.

The details of bilateral talks will be known after the official briefing later today.
