ON BOARD AIR INDIA: President Pratibha Patil has said that India is committed to promoting regional peace and security in Asia and enhancing relations with the West Asian nations in the political, economic and cultural fields. Talking to reporters on board Air India on way to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates , she said, New Delhi seeks to further reinforce relations with the UAE and Syria.

Emirates. India is all set to give a new high to energy security as well as renew and redefine age old relations with the country which is the one of the top five oil exporters to India. Home to nearly 1.75 million Indians, UAE has emerged as a top destination for India’s export with 13.41% share. The expatriates are contributing back home through the currency inflow. It would not be out of place to mention that both UAE and Syria supported India for non permanent seat at UNSC, now for the permanent one.
