President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari have greeted fellow citizens on the eve of Eid ul Fitr. In his message, Mr Mukherjee said, the festival marks the culmination of the Holy Month of Ramzan, a month of prayer, blessings and forgiveness.
He appealed the countrymen to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity and share their happiness with the poor and needy. Mr Mukherjee wished that the celebrations will reinforce the nation’s commitment to mutual goodwill and inspire each one to follow the path of love and universal brotherhood.
In his message, the Vice President said, the Id-ul-Fitr signifies the traditional expression of brotherhood and understanding between the people. Mr Ansari said, the festival reaffirms people abiding faith in the spirit of compassion and charity.
