Deepawali, the festival of lights will be celebrated today. The festival marks the victory of good over evil. People also worship the Goddess of wealth Lakshmi on the occasion.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu have extended greetings to the citizens on the eve of Deepawali.

In his message, Mr Kovind said, the festival marks the triumph of hope over despair, good over evil and light over darkness. He appealed to the people to try to bring happiness in the lives of those who are less fortunate and needy by lighting the lamp of love, care and sharing.

In his message, the Vice President said, the ‘festival of lights’ is the celebration of perpetual power of the good and its capability to conquer all evil. He said, the festival tells us that truth and virtue alone triumph in the end.

The last Delhi Metro train service tomorrow will start at 10 PM from terminal stations of all Metro Lines including Airport Express Line. Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day tomorrow from 6 AM onwards on all lines and from 4:45 AM on Airport Express Line.
