US President Barack Obama has told his countrymen to remain vigilant against any suspicious activities and appealed to them not to turn against Islam. In his weekly web and radio address to the nation, Obama said Americans should not turn against one another by letting this fight be defined as a war between America and Islam. He said turning against one another only serves to undermine the national security and this is what Islamic State wants.

He praised Americans who have come together to reaffirm the core values and stand up, forcefully, for freedom of religion. Mr. Obama’s statement comes amid increasing anti-Muslim rhetoric in the aftermath of the San Bernardino terror attack that killed 14 people.
