President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday extended greetings to US President Barack Obama on the eve of his country’s Independence Day .
In his message, Mr. Mukherjee said the recent high-level contacts between the two countries have brought them closer to realizing the true potential of a multi-faceted partnership.
He said it is a matter of satisfaction that the close relations between India and the US are based on shared values of democracy, pluralism and rule of law. He said the relationship has been strengthened by two nations’ increasing convergence on bilateral, regional and global issues.
Mr. Mukherjee also expressed confidence that the positive outcomes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the US will contribute in further strengthening strategic partnership.
