President Ram Nath Kovind Sunday dedicated the newly built Arunachal Pradesh Assembly building to the people of the state in Itanagar.

After the inauguration, attending the special assembly session and addressing the members in the house, Mr. Kovind said that in democracy all the decision are taken after discussions and in the house if there is any difference of opinion then there should be debate but not disruption. He said the Assembly house is not merely a building of concrete but a living example of democracy.

The president said the representatives should keep in mind that they have been selected to serve the people and fulfill their expectations. It is the responsibility of the members to make laws for the welfare of the people and resolve their problems honestly, he added.

Mr. Kovind also said that Arunachal has the potential to become the tourism hub of the country. He said Arunachal being a bordering state in the east can benefit from the act east policy.

Earlier today, the president attended the valedictory function of the completion of 40 years of Vivikananda Kendra in Arunachal Pradesh at IG Park in Itanagar. Mr. Kovind is on a four day tour to the North East starting from today.
