President Droupadi Murmu to arrive in Guwahati this afternoon on a two-day visit to Assam. The president will take part in several government programmes in Assam.
President Droupadi Murmu who is on a three day visit to the North East will reach Guwahati toady from Tripura. The President will visit the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati to inaugurate ‘PARAM KAMRUPA’ Supercomputer facility and a high-power active and passive component laboratory of SAMEER at IIT Guwahati. The Param Kamrupa, one of its kind supercomputer in the North East region, under the National Supercomputing Mission.
The event at IIT Guwahati will also include the virtual Inauguration of Dhubri Medical College and Hospital, and a foundation stone laying ceremony for Zonal Institutes of National Institute of Virology at Dibrugarh in Assam and Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh, by the President. The President will also attend the civic reception at the Assam Administrative Staff College at Guwahati in the evening.
The President will be accompanied by Professor Jagadish Mukhi, Governor of Assam; Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam; Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Keshab Mahanta, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Science and Technology and Information Technology, Assam government among other dignitaries.
