Ibobi questioned BJP government’s hidden agenda behind the government of India-NSCN (IM) framework and the secrecy.

Is BJP inviting again the incident like June 18, 2001 in which 18 precious loves were lost, he asked. Continuing his speech, CM further lambasted BJP for politicising in the establishment of National Sports University.

BJP ready for a historic change in Manipur: Kiren Rijiju

Referring to Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal’s statement on his recent visit to the state that the National Sports University will be establish soon when BJP government comes in Manipur, Ibobi asked if the University will not be established if BJP government does not come to power.

He asked not to bring the issues of sports or culture which are proud of the state into politics.

The chief minister also attended the flag hoisting ceremony of Congress candidate of Phungyar constituency Victor Keishing held at his residence at Mantripukhri.

Ibobi said, “We must forgive the past and move ahead by turning our page on how to bring development as peace can only be brought by development and nothing else.”

He opined that India had 500 princely states, if all those princely states started demanding their old status then, there will be no India. Likewise Manipur’s ultimate owner is the state government; no one can claim the state as their own.

It is neither belong to Meitei, Naga or Kuki. If there is a separation, then there will be no Manipur, therefore we must unite and move ahead along with the pace of development, he added.
